Eternity Is Closer Than You Think
Scripture is clear: every one of us will stand before God. “It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)
Death isn’t the end — it’s the beginning of eternity.
And because eternity is real, we must face the truth Psalm 51 reveals: we have sinned. Not theoretically, not comparatively — personally. John the Baptist pointed to Jesus and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)
Heaven is perfect. We are not.
No amount of “good” can make us worthy of a perfect place.
But Jesus can.
Romans 6:23 reminds us that eternal life is a gift, not something we earn. Jesus wasn’t just a historical figure — He was the Son of God, the only One able to cover us with His righteousness and open the door we could never unlock ourselves.
This is the hope of the gospel:
Christ alone makes us ready for eternity.
A Gentle Reflection
Take a quiet moment today and ask: Am I trusting in my goodness — or in Christ alone?
Let that question draw you closer to the One who gives eternal life.
