When You Feel Behind, God Is Still On Time
I’ll be honest — this week didn’t go the way I planned.
I’m posting this Faith Blog a day later than I intended, and it’s because life simply got busy. Commitments stacked up, responsibilities pulled at me, and some great things happened - family not seen in a couple decades visiting from Europe - and before I knew it… I fell behind.
Maybe you’ve felt that before. That sinking feeling of “I should have done this already.”
That pressure of trying to catch up.
That frustration of wanting to be consistent but feeling stretched thin.
But here’s the truth God reminded me of:
Being late in MY schedule does not mean God is late in His.
We live in a world obsessed with perfect timing, productivity, and never missing a beat. But God doesn’t measure us by flawless calendars or uninterrupted routines. He looks at the heart — the willingness to show up, even when we’re tired, even when we’re behind, even when life feels heavier than usual.
This week I found myself juggling work, family, responsibilities, and the everyday realities that come with being human. I fell behind on something important to me — this weekly devotional. But instead of letting guilt take over, I chose to lean into His grace.
Because God doesn’t shame us for being human.
He meets us in the middle of our mess, our busyness, our delays, and says:
“My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
When we fall behind, He doesn’t fall behind with us.
When we lose track, He doesn’t lose track of us.
When our plans slip, His purpose still stands firm.
And here’s the beautiful part: Showing up late is still showing up.
Sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is simply not quit.
So keep pressing forward.
Honour your commitments... even if they’re delayed a little.
Say, “Lord, I’m here — not perfectly, but sincerely.”
God works with sincerity, not perfection.
So if you’ve been feeling behind lately — spiritually, emotionally, physically, or in your responsibilities — take heart. God is not disappointed in you. He is not surprised by your pace. He is not measuring you against the world’s stopwatch.
He is inviting you to rest in Him, reset your focus, and keep moving forward with grace.
Because even when we’re late…
God is still right on time.
