Are you in AWE of God?
We just wrapped up a study group at church walking through John Bevere’s “The Awe of God,” and it stirred something deep in me. We talked about the Fear of the Lord — not a a scared fear, but a sacred one. Not running away from God, but standing in absolute awe of His holiness, His power, and His goodness.
Think about it:
The God who created the moon, the stars, the oceans… also created you.
He even created the duck‑billed platypus — which, let’s be honest, feels like God showing us He has a sense of humour! I can almost imagine Him smiling, knowing scientists would be scratching their heads when they discovered it.
If the Lord crafted every detail of creation — including the details of your life — then who else deserves our reverence, our wonder, our awe?
Tomorrow is Sunday.
Before the busyness of the day begins, take a moment alone with God. Slow down. Breathe. Look back on the countless ways He has shown His goodness, His creativity, and His faithfulness in your life.
Psalm 111 tells us that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
And when you carry that beginning into Psalm 112, you see the blessings, stability, and goodness God pours out on those who walk in that holy reverence.
Let that truth settle into your heart today.
God bless you.
